한번씩 한국에서 친구들이랑 노래방가서 실컷 노래 부르곤 했는데…

그때가 그립다.

내 18번 (아니,17번이다…18번은 따로 있다.)은 휘트니 휴스톤의 ‘Greatest Love Of All’이다.

휘트니 ‘ㅎ’도 못따라가지만,나름대론 열심히 불르곤 했다.듣는 친구들은 내심 지겨웠을지 모르지만….

내가 이 곡을 처음 접했을때가 1996년 애틀란타올림픽 개막식인가 폐막식인가에서 휘트니가 불렀던걸로 기억한다.

나는 이곡을 듣는 순간 꼭 휘트니가 불러야 될 노래 같았다.가스펠 분위기가 나기도 하면서..

그 때만큼은 흑인들은 굉장한 자부심을 느꼈을지도 모른다. 요즘은 약에 찌들려 있는 휘트니가 안됐지만…

그무렵 라디오 방송에서 잠깐씩 틀어주더니만,쑤욱 들어가 버리곤… 인터넷의 탄생으로 음악 공유사이트를 만나기전까지 내 기억에서도 잠시 잊혀졌던 그 노래를 요즘엔 늘 들을수 있으니 너무 좋다.

이 곡을 열심히 연습해서 나의 16번으로 만들거다.허~억..근데..너무 높다.아무래도 16번으론 좀 무리인것 같다.가사는 뭐..대충 읽어보니 용기와 희망을 주는 가사같다.
